Getting started
This playground helps you explore an area by collecting all postcodes inside a shape you draw. Use it to understand neighbourhoods, compare regions, or prepare postcode lists for other playgrounds.
Start by panning and zooming the map to the desired area. Click the Draw polygon button in the map panel to draw a shape. Move or resize the shape as you go.
Choose how detailed your search should be — district‑level for a broad view or street‑level for precision. You can also decide whether to return the full geometries or just their center points.
Finally, specify how much area around the shape to include by setting a buffer distance. This is an optional step, but it can help you capture relevant postcodes that fall just outside the shape boundary.
Run the tool to get the data. Run it again whenever you move or resize the shape on the map.
The data used in this playground is sourced from the Dutch CBS and Esri Netherlands. For more information, click here.
